DANA DILL** | MINISTER TO YOUTH
Hello All! I’m Dana. Yes, it is a girl’s name. I didn’t have a say in that decision. I grew up in San Clemente. I went to Shorecliffs Middle School, San Clemente high school, and graduated from Biola University with a degree in Christian Ministry. I am now married to my high school sweetheart Chawna and have a beautiful daughter Daisy Jane. We live in Laguna Niguel with our dog Moonie. I love leading at Core because I get to share to regularly preach/teach/share the gospel with students and see Jesus change their hearts to trust and love Him more than anything else! It is my hope and prayer that our students come to realize that everything is a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Jesus Christ the Lord of All. I live to know Him and make Him known!
STEVEN SHAW** | MUSICAL WORSHIP LEADER
Hello! My name is Steven! I am the music pastor at The Ride and Core. I grew up in Orange County. I married my best friend, Lauren Shaw. We live in Dana Point. I own my own business, it’s called Fitcore, Health and fitness type stuff. I love leading music at South Shores. My wife and I lead at Remix (The 4th sunday service). If you’d like to check our music out, click here. I love leading the singing with the youth because I have a passion to help kids grow in Christ. Teaching my music team what it means to worship our Lord in music and teaching the kids threw song the greatness of God excites me greatly. It’s an honor to be along side such a great group of leaders. Dana is one of my best friends and our passion is the same: to Glorify Christ in all we do. I pray we do it faithfully and help these youngsters grow with wisdom of our wonderful God. Thank You Jesus for all You have done for us!
JENNA GARLAND | 7th GRADE GIRLS
Hey ya’ll! My name is Jenna and I lead the 6th grade girls! I’ve lived in Dana Point my whole life. I attended Niguel Hills Middle School then graduated from Dana Hills High School this past year. I just started my first semester at Saddleback College. I am majoring in Physical Therapy and plan to transfer to Cal State Fullerton. A few fun facts about me are that I love surfing and the beach! You can always find me at San Onofre. I just started working at Killer Dana Surf Shop. I am a coffee enthusiast and a chocolate lover. On a day to day basis, I always end up hanging out with my best friend Caroline who is also my co-leader. I also am passionate about mission trips. This past summer, God blessed me with the chance to go to South Africa with South Shores Church. God did so many amazing things while we were there! I plan on going back in the next few years. I have attended South Shores for 3 years now. Hannah Floch was my leader all throughout high school and now I get the chance to work with her! My experience here has been and continues to be life changing. The people in this ministry have welcomed me into the church family and are so encouraging to me and one another. This is my first year as a leader at The Ride. I’m so thankful to be able to encourage these middle schoolers and teach them about the love that God has for us and help them grow in their relationships with Christ!
CAROLINE FOURNIER | 7th GRADE GIRLS
Hello friends! My name is Caroline and I lead sixth grade girls! I am a huge fan of wiener dogs, coffee, food, and chapstick (yes, I said chapstick). I grew up in Laguna Niguel with my mom, dad, and two brothers. I just so happen to be the middle child (as my mother calls me, “the easy child”). I am now in my first year of college at Saddleback! My ideal situation consists of rainy days with Jesus, hot coffee, and fuzzy socks. I met my co-leader Jenna back in seventh grade and we have been best friends ever since! I have been a part of South Shores for four years now and I can honestly say that the relationships I have built with the leaders, pastors and fellow students have changed my life! I am super stoked to be a leader for The Ride because I love seeing how young students grow in Jesus and praise His name! It is so awesome to see middle-schoolers strive to be the best they can be for Jesus as well as living a Christ-centered life J I love the community and fellowship of this ministry and I am super blessed to be a part of it!
CHUCK DENSO | 6th GRADE GUYS
Hi everyone!! My name is Chuck Denso and I lead the 6th grade boys after serving some time in the High School Ministry with the current 11th grade young men. I’m coming up on 30 years of marriage and am lucky enough to be married to my college sweetheart, Debbie. Yes, this makes me the oldest leader by a long shot. We have lived in Laguna Niguel since 1989 and we have (2) grown sons, Dylan (26) and Tanner (24). I was fortunate to be involved in a Father/Son Bible Study group with both boys for a number of years. Our great Lord has truly blessed our family. We love all sports and spend quite a bit of time at the beach. I feel very honored to be a part of this Youth ministry. This ministry is all about the truth of knowing Jesus and is done in such an engaging manner that the young men and women are very excited to show up each Wednesday. You can feel the love of Jesus every time we meet. Praise Jesus!!!

(So I do have wisdom to share with the middle school kids) I live in Laguna Niguel, California. In my free time I like to run (I used to be a very good runner in high school), read, and hang out with friends. I love serving at The Ride because I love encouraging the kids to love Jesus and obey Jesus. I want the kids of the ride to love the gospel of Christ and be willing to share it with other people. I also love serving alongside of great leaders. My best friends are all leaders too. Mike, Matt, Noah, and Adam all serve at The Ride and are my closest friends. It is amazing how biblically solid The Ride is. I look forward to the next few years.

NOAH GJERTSEN-ILLIG* | 8th GRADE GUYS
Greetings unto thee! I’m Noah Gjertsen-Illig. That’s right. Gjertsen-Illig. The one and only. Anyways, I am currently a sophomore at Saddleback College, an Apprentice at South Shores Church (under Dana Dill), and a goofball. I enjoy reading the Scriptures and Bible-saturated books, sharing life with my brothers and sisters in Christ, my family, attending ReMix (South Shore’s 6 PM service), the beach and pool (God is good for creating water), Disneyland, coffee, and great food! I aspire to become a Christ-like husband, father, and pastor in the future. Ever since Christ graciously brought me into His fold, I have delighted in seeing others mature in Him. My aim is to labor for my students’ good, that they may be happy, humble, and holy men who are blessings to others and who love and make much of Jesus. So for that, I am honored and humbled to be a part of The Ride and I look forward to seeing my younger brothers mature and have the gospel pounded into their hearts and the cross seared in their minds, all to the praise of His glorious grace!
ADAM MENDEZ | BASS PLAYER
Hello my name is Adam Mendez I’m a college student and I’m one of the worship leaders at The Ride.
